The Oasis Olives project was based with Australian investors and Daniel Flexer expertize in agro project development.

The region of Pisco is a veritable food bowl, boasting crops including premium avocado, asparagus and table grapes. Growing conditions are superb, with the dry desert climate ensuring that crops are relatively pest free, and without the problems precipitation at harvest causes in many of the world’s olive-growing regions. This large-scale agriculture project, established from scratch, includes a modern olive mill and table olive processing facility – and learning how to operate all aspects of the operation and processing has been both challenging and exciting. The proof of their success is in their multi-award-winning oils and olives.

Size: 500 hectares olive project for the production of high quality extra virgin olive oil

Oasis Olives is one of the first large scale olive projects for the production of high quality olive oil in Ica district, Peru.

Yuval Chen was one of the first experts to recognize the huge potential of growing olive oil under the special desert conditions of Ica district.

The main varieties for this project are : cv. Coratina, cv. Barnea, cv. Arbequina, cv. Picual, cv. Picholine Langdouc and cv. Koroneiki.

The main objective of this pollination plan is to enable the project to produce oil which could form the row material for many potential blends due to any client taste.

The establishment of this project had lots of difficulties as it was the first project in a new region for high technology olive projects. We needed to establish an olive nursery and treat salty water to levels suitable for nursery irrigation. Access through the sand dunes was also a big challenge. Other issues we needed to deal with were the lack of skilled and dedicated technicians for day to day management of the project..
